DESCRIPTION:The symphonic concert Kindred Voices explores the idea of musical dialogue and expressive affinities\, bringing together works that highlight the relationship between two solo voices and the power of the orchestral discourse. \nThe evening opens with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins and String Orchestra\, BWV 1043 in D minor\, one of the most beloved creations of the Baroque repertoire. Its formal clarity and contrapuntal balance provide soloists Suyeon Kang and Vlad Popescu the perfect framework for an elegant and refined dialogue.  \nNext is Eugène Ysaÿe’s Amitié\, op. 26\, a rarely performed work in which Romantic expressiveness and instrumental virtuosity intertwine in an intense discourse built around the idea of friendship and artistic connection between the two violins. \nIn the final part of the concert\, César Franck’s Symphony in D minor presents an expansive symphonic structure\, remarkable for its thematic unity and expressive depth. \nA concert that highlights stylistic affinities and dialogue across eras\, under the direction of Radu Popa.
