DESCRIPTION:The symphonic concert French Evening\, conducted by David Crescenzi\, presents a refined program inspired by the spirit and color of French music\, complemented by a cosmopolitan perspective on Paris as seen through the eyes of an American composer. \nThe evening opens with Gabriel Fauré’s suite Masques et bergamasques\, op. 112\, an elegant and delicate work in which the charm of the neoclassical style blends with the subtle lyricism characteristic of the composer. \nNext\, Henri Tomasi’s Trumpet Concerto in C major highlights the virtuosity and expressiveness of soloist Selina Ott. \nThe concert concludes with the famous symphonic poem An American in Paris by George Gershwin\, a work full of color and vitality\, in which jazz influences intertwine with orchestral refinement. This musical portrait of 1920s Paris brings the concert to a vibrant and optimistic finale.

DESCRIPTION:The symphonic concert Variations of Time\, conducted by Radu Popa\, opens with the Chaconne from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita No. 2 for Violin\, BWV 1004\, presented in an orchestral version arranged by Saito Hideo. Considered one of the most profound creations of the solo violin repertoire\, the work conveys a vast and meditative dimension while retaining the expressive power of the original.  \nNext\, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme for Cello and Orchestra\, op. 33\, brings the evening’s soloist\, Jan Sekaci\, to the forefront. The work combines the elegance of the Classical style with the Romantic lyricism characteristic of the composer\, offering the cello the opportunity to display its flexibility and expressiveness.  \nThe final part of the concert is dedicated to Benjamin Britten’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Henry Purcell\, op. 34\, also known as The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. This iconic work highlights the colors and possibilities of each orchestral section in a clear\, educational\, and spectacular construction.

DESCRIPTION:The symphonic concert Harmonies of Nature\, conducted by Rumon Gamba\, features two works by Ralph Vaughan Williams and one of Ludwig van Beethoven’s most beloved symphonies. \nThe evening opens with Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves\, a delicately lyrical work built on the famous traditional English melody. \nNext\, Vaughan Williams’ Suite for Viola and Small Orchestra showcases soloist Timothy Ridout\, one of the leading violists of his generation. \nThe second half of the concert is dedicated to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F major\, op. 68\, “Pastoral\,” a masterpiece of the classical symphonic repertoire. Inspired by nature and the composer’s experiences within it\, the symphony offers a succession of soundscapes evoking tranquility\, joy\, and the power of natural elements.
