Ionuț Podgoreanu began his horn studies in Ploiești, under the guidance of Professor Liviu Săvuță, continuing his training at the National University of Music in Bucharest with Nicolae Lipoczi and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Hansjörg Angerer.
Ionuț Podgoreanu was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, collaborating with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Claudio Abbado and Ivan Fischer. Since 2006 he has been principal horn player of the Gran Teatro del Liceu Symphony Orchestra in Barcelona, and since 2014 he has been a professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Teatro alla Scala, Munich Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic and Orchestra MusicAeterna, under the baton of conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Harding, Teodor Currentzis, Simone Young, Cristian Măcelaru and Fabio Luisi. He is also a member of the Romanian Chamber Orchestra, founder of the Mioritique Ensemble and principal conductor of The Simfonics Orchestral Academy, Barcelona.
Awarded with the First Prize at prestigious international competitions, Ionuț Podgoreanu continues to inspire through interpretative excellence and pedagogical dedication.
