From 2021 to 2023, he was a scholarship holder of the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, studying with Stefan Schweigert. <br\/><br\/>He is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including First Prize at the renowned &#8220;Concertino Prague,&#8221; and was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra as well as the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed with the Slovenian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. <br\/><br\/>Since the 2023\/24 season, he has been principal bassoonist of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. He also appears regularly as a guest with orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. <br\/><br\/>Luka Mitev is also a passionate chamber musician, a core member of Ensemble SI, and performs regularly with chamber music ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble Resonanz.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Slovenian bassoonist Luka Mitev studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Prof. Marco Postinghel and at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik &#8220;Hanns Eisler&#8221; Berlin with Prof. Volker Tessmann.
