The Banatul Timi\u0219oara Philharmonic celebrates composer Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g on the occasion of his 100th birthday with an exceptional chamber recital. Internationally acclaimed artists Vlad Popescu (violin), Sascha Bota (viola), and Julian Arp (cello) present a special concert held on the composer\u2019s birthday, opening the program with a work by Kurt\u00e1g himself. <\/p>\n
The event takes place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM, at the UPT Senate Hall, Lloyd Palace.<\/p>\n
The recital program brings together works by Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g, Johann Sebastian Bach, B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k, Gy\u00f6rgy Ligeti, Le\u00f3 Weiner, and Franz Schubert. Opening the evening with a composition by Kurt\u00e1g emphasizes the tribute to the composer, while the rest of the program places his music in dialogue with the tradition from which it emerged and the modernity he helped define. <\/p>\n
