Drawing on a rich and diverse background as a trained pianist, psychologist, and music therapist, Angelica Postu brings an intercultural and interdisciplinary perspective to her clinical and academic work. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of the Arts Berlin in the Department of Music Therapy, where she currently teaches as a university associate lecturer. She also holds a teaching position at the National University of Music Bucharest and works as a music therapist at the Charité University Hospital for Psychiatry in Berlin.Her therapeutic work supports artists in exploring emotional expression, maintaining balance, and cultivating meaning throughout their artistic journeys. She is regularly invited to teach, lecture, and offer mentoring sessions across Europe, where she contributes to the advancement of music therapy education as well as to the support of emotional health and well-being in professional musicians and other artists.
Through her teaching, clinical work, and ongoing research, she advocates for the integration of culturally rooted, evidence-informed music therapy approaches into broader health and education systems. Angelica Postu contributes actively to the field through publications and international workshops on emotional well-being and music therapy—particularly for professional musicians and artists. Her work also highlights the importance of enriching the perspective and training of classical musicians by encouraging a deeper understanding of psychological development and personal well-being.
As the founder of the Romanian Association of Music Therapy, Angelica Postu is committed since 2017 to advancing the professional identity and academic recognition of music therapy. Her work emphasizes the depth and complexity of music therapy training, which combines artistic sensitivity, psychological insight, clinical expertise, and personal development.
