Mimoe Todo – Euphonia Baroque Academy

MIMOE TODO is a harpsichordist from Japan living in Germany. Her interest and passion for chamber music keeps her continuously involved in important projects. She enjoys playing the harpsichord, organ and fortepiano in many different contexts, including in professional baroque orchestras such as the “Balthasar Neumann Orchestra”.

Her experience as a pianist led her to German Songs (Deutsche Lieder) during her master’s degree, where she discovered her passion for the German language and art songs. She collaborated frequently with many singers and studied with Prof. Marcelo Amaral and Holger Berndsen.

During her harpsichord and early music studies in Nuremberg with Prof. Wiebke Weidanz, she received DAAD scholarships, Chancengleichheit für Frauen etc. She holds master’s degrees in piano, harpsichord and keyboard choreography (vocal).

His ensembles have been awarded prizes at various competitions such as the First Prize at the “Mozart-Verein” Competition in Nuremberg in 2015, the International “Suzana Szörenyi” Competition (First Prize) in 2018, the International “Bach” Competition (Second Prize) in 2021 (Berlin), among others.

She attended the Ton Koopman Academy, the Winterakademie in Bremen, the Mendelssohn Akademie with Peter Schreier, the Ensemble-Akademie of the Freiburger Barock Orchester, and Baroque accompaniment courses with Bernhard Forck, who gave her important musical advice.

In 2020 she was also an Adriana Jacoba Fund scholarship holder for her studies at the Conservatory Den Haag to enrich her knowledge of historical performance practice with Bart van Oort, Petra Somlai, Siebe Henstra and Richard Eggar. Since 2021, he has been a teacher at the “School for Young Talent” at the Koninklijk Conservatory, and in the summer of 2023, he will tour as a choreographer at the Bach300 Summer Academy in Leipzig.
