VOCES TIMISIENSES

The VOCES TIMISIENSES Ensemble is made up of lyrical artists of the Banatul Philharmonic’s Choir. It was founded in May 2019 out of the desire to approach a repertoire adapted to international contemporary choral life, in order to present it to the local audience, complementary to the usual monthly programs performed by the Banatul Philharmonic’s Ion Românu Choir.
Since its establishment, this vocal ensemble gave seven recitals under the auspices of the Banatul Philharmonic, both in the institution’s concert hall and in other locations.
The ensemble’s repertoire includes various choral pieces, intended to stimulate the public’s appetite for the a cappella choral musical genre; thus, a repertoire starting from the instrumental music of J.S. Bach, and continuing with choral adaptations of famous pieces from Disney cartoons, film music, or pop-rock adaptations was approached. This musical journey includes contemporary choral compositions and, most importantly, Romanian music.
Another goal of this vocal ensemble is to introduce young listeners to the world of classical music. As a result, a good part of their recitals were presented as educational events, aimed at instilling in the hearts of the young spectators the love for live music, thus transforming them into lovers of classical music and ensuring the sustainability of the Philharmonic’s audience.
