SILVIA CAREDDU

Soloist in Residence of the Banat Timișoara Philharmonic in the 2024/2025 Season

SILVIA CAREDDU și-a început cariera câștigând în unanimitate Premiul I și Premiul Publicului la cea de-a LVI-a Ediție a „Concours International de Musique de Genève”. În urma premiului, Lorin Maazel a invitat-o invitedSilvia to become Principal flute for his newly founded Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini. Holding the same position, she later joined the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Wiener Symphoniker and the Wiener Philharmoniker – Wiener Staatsoper.

IONUȚ PODGOREANU

Soloist in Residence of the Banat Timișoara Philharmonic in the 2024/2025 Season

Born in Ploiești, IONUȚ PODGOREANU began studying the horn with Liviu Săvuța at the Music High School in Ploiești. He continued his musical training at the University of Music in Salzburg, where he studied with Hansjörg Angerer, until completing his studies (Master of Arts).

During his studies he was a member of the famous “Gustav Mahler” Youth Orchestra, and collaborated with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Ivan Fischer and others. He was also the winner of important international horn competitions, such as “Jeunesse Musicales” (Romania), “Telfs” (Austria), “Yamaha” (Austria) and “D. Ceccarossi” (Italy).

Florin Iliescu

Soloist in Residence of the Banat Timișoara Philharmonic in the 2024/2025 Season

FLORIN ILIESCU was born in Bucharest, in 1984, into a family of musicians and started studying the violin at the age of five. Violinists such as Christiane Edinger, Zakhar Bron, Leonidas Kavakos and Ștefan Gheorghiu influenced him during his artistic training.

Following recent prize-winning successes at some of the world’s most prestigious international competitions, including Queen Elisabeth, Concours de Genève, and Paulo, Canadian-born, Berlin-based cellist Bryan Cheng has established himself as one of the most compelling young artists on the classical music scene.

In the 2024/25 season, Bryan Cheng debuts with the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt performing Saint-Saëns´ Cello Concerto No. 1 under the direction of Erina Yashima, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales with Elgar´s Cello Concerto conducted by Simone Menezes, the Prague Philharmonia with Haydn´s Cello Concerto No. 1 under the baton of Oscar Jockel, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra presenting Mason Bates’ Cello Concerto with Robert Moody, the Orchestre Métropolitain with Tchaikovsky‘s Rococo Variations under the direction of Louis Langrée, the Bochumer Symphoniker with Nil Venditti, the Orquesta Reino de Aragón under Ricardo Casero’s direction, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra Ankara, the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra.

SIMON TRPČESKI

Soloist in Residence of the Banat Timișoara Philharmonic in the 2024/2025 Season

Simon Trpčeski has been praised as much for his powerful virtuosity and deeply expressive approach as for his charismatic stage presence. Launched onto the international scene 20 years ago as a BBC New Generation Artist, in an incredibly fast-paced career unhindered by cultural or musical boundaries, he has collaborated with over a hundred orchestras on four continents, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Deutsche Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and Dresden Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, NDR Elbphilharmonie, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Russian National Orchestra, Teatro Colón, while in North America, he is a frequent soloist with the Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestras, the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonics, and the Chicago, San Francisco, St. Louis, Seattle, and Baltimore Symphonies. Further afield, he has performed with the New Japan Philharmonic, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Seoul and Hong Kong Philharmonics, and the Sydney, Melbourne, and New Zealand Symphonies.
