ANNA MARIA WÜNSCH – Eufonia Masterclass

From an early age, she grew up surrounded by music. Starting with the violin as a child, soon she discovered the viola was her soul mate. While studying with Prof. Gareth Lubbe (Folkwang Essen) and Prof. Hartmuth Rohde (UdK Berlin) she received diverse scholarships of the Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken – Stiftung, the Mozartgesellschaft Dortmund, the Foundation Villa musica and the Deutschlandstipendiums. With that support she dedicated herself to chamber music, appearing at festivals like Krzyżowa-Music Festival, Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival. She’s a regular guest player of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Staatskapelle Berlin and the Gewandhaus Leipzig.

Beside the classic repertoire she’s discovering the practice of early music but also jazz and free improvisation. Finding all of these aspects combined, since 2025 she’s a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. She’s teaching viola at the Felix-Mendelssohn-University of music and theatre Leipzig.She is a harpsichordist from Japan, based in Germany. Her interest and passion for chamber music keeps her regularly engaged as a continuo player in and out of Europe. She enjoys performing on harpsichord, organ positiv and fortepiano in many different contexts, including in modern and baroque professional orchestras such as Balthasar Neumann Orchestra, Ensemble Resonanz and Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum Leipzig. She collaborated with international renowned musicians such as Bernhard Forck, Enrico Onofri, Ricardo Minasi and Reinhard Goebel, which gave her important musical influences.

During her early music studies in Nuremberg and Den Haag, she was a scholarship recipient of Adriana Jacoba Fonds, DAAD, Chancengleichheit für Frauen and Junge
Kunst und neue Wege‘ from the Bavarian Ministry of State. Her chamber music groups
were prizewinner at various competitions such as the International Duo Competition
‘Suzana Szörenyi’ in 2018 in Bucharest and International Berlin Bach Competition in
2021.

She worked at various master courses and academies as an accompanist such as Bach300’ at the summer academy of Freiburger Barockorchester, the summer academy in Neuburg an der Donau and DSO Akademie Berlin. For the Season 2024/25, she is a fellowship member of the English Concert. She also asissted a baroque chamber music program as s mentor for the School voor Jong Talent of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. Since Oktober 2023, she works as a répétiteur for the early music department at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen.
